independence day

june 12: philippines' independence day. also our last day of freedom so a bunch of us went to swim at J's place [she's in her 3rd year] it was great! i miss swimming. i definately took easy access to pools for granted. the seniors have been really friendly! they've made us feel really welcome, even me! [even though i'm technically not a fil-am]

with the 3rd years + art [heh. that's what was on the thank-you cake]

gosh. time kinda flies right by. it's almost the end of my first proper week of school. it feels a bit strange to be studying every single day. i haven't really done that before. whoops. i also feel a bit insecure going to class each day without any notes. that's how lessons are done here. u take turns doing transcription. the lecturers don't upload notes for you to download or give out notes before class. as the lessons progress, i can't help but compare my undergrad experience to this one. the major difference is efficiency. i guess i'm a bit spoilt in that sense.

thankfully it only takes about half an hour to get to school and back. which is a blessing considering how traffic can triple that amount of time. that's what's making the hot n sticky commute bearable.

i'm slowly getting used to sharing a room, with younger girls. that means i get to experience having a brother and sisters too. the two younger ones squabble a lot. it's amusing to observe cos i know my brother and i went through that phase. [but it's all good now right?] i am slowly starting to miss food in singapore. slowly.. but surely. and i miss family. *whine whine whine* i'm tired of 'getting to know you' conversations. i miss talking. i wish i could cut through the small talk and just become great friends. but the world doesn't really work that way right?

on the flip side.. there are 3 kittens with their mummy in the blacony =) how cool is that? i enjoyed watching 'cars' as well. i'd totally recommend it. *grin*
